The City of Highland, AR

A mass resurgence in economic development has positioned Highland as one of the fastest growing communities in the area with a booming business community and lot of public resources.

 While 2008 brought disaster to Highland with an F-4 tornado that destroyed homes and numerous businesses, 2010 is bringing growth and prosperity.

The second largest of the quad cities, Highland touts over 1,000 full time residents. Catering to the demands of growth, housing is available via local real estate companies and business are conveniently close to Highlands residential areas.

Food is an important industry in Highland. With many amazing area restaurants, dining in Highland is a must for any Spring River fan. The selection of great eateries will impress.

Along with food, entertainment is at the top of the list in Highland. Stop in and catch a high school sports game or head to the theater to see your favorite new movie on the big screen.

Pro­viding for the medi­cal needs of Highland citizens, new doctor, dental, and chiropractic clinics extend along Highway 62/412. There are also several pharmacies located in town for your convenience. In addition, Highland has a shopping center and over two hundred retail businesses. A full-time police depart­ment and the volunteer fire department keep the community safe. The fire department recently finished construction on a new fire station that allows for quicker response to emergencies due to its central location and upgrades.

A pride of the City of Highland is its school district, one of the highest rated school districts in north central Arkansas. Highland Schools provide an excel­lent education for area youth.

Bordering the 13,440 acre Harold E. Alexander Wild­life Management Area, the city of Highland provides outdoor enthusiasts with one of the finest venues for hunting, hiking, wildlife photography, and basic camping to be found.
